The one fund that can cut your tax
ELSS, an Equity Linked Savings Scheme, is the mutual fund that offers a Section 80C deduction, of up to ₹1.5 lakh, with a three-year lock-in. It is genuinely useful for the right person, and our job is to check whether that is you before anything is invested.
The check that comes first
The deduction applies only under the old tax regime. So the first, honest question is which regime you are on. Under the new, default regime, ELSS gives no deduction and is simply an equity fund with a lock-in, and other equity funds without a lock-in may suit you better. We would rather establish that up front than sell you something that does not help.
What working with us involves
If ELSS does fit, we explain the lock-in and the tax clearly, help you invest at a sustainable amount, and handle the paperwork. We will not pitch the "best" ELSS or promise a return.
You pay us no fee. We are paid a trail commission by the Asset Management Company under the Regular Plan, set out on our commission and conflict of interest page.
Remember that ELSS is an equity fund: its value can fall, including during the lock-in when you cannot exit. If you want to check whether ELSS fits your tax situation, talk to us.
Frequently asked questions
Is ELSS right for me?
It depends mainly on which tax regime you are on. The Section 80C deduction applies only under the old regime, so under the new regime ELSS gives no deduction and is simply an equity fund with a lock-in. We help you check that first, rather than assume it fits.
How does Nico Wealth help with ELSS?
We explain how the 80C deduction and the three-year lock-in work, check whether ELSS suits your regime and goals, and handle the paperwork. We will not promise returns or pick the "best" ELSS; the aim is a decision you understand.
Is there a fee?
No direct fee to you. We are paid a trail commission by the Asset Management Company under the Regular Plan, disclosed in full. It is part of the scheme's expense ratio.
